Idaho’s largest and fastest growing distributor, Hayden Beverage Company is accepting applications for an Idaho Wine Merchant Vice President of Wine. This position is responsible for working closely with internal department and external customers to plan, implement, and execute the Idaho Wine Merchant wine brands.

Idaho Wine Merchant Vice President Of Wine Job Details



* This position has direct P&L management, so a sound understanding of the metrics used to manage a business from an accounting perspective are critical.
* Understand Wine Brand priorities and incorporate into Idaho Wine Merchant - Hayden Beverage execution strategies and culture.
* Negotiate supplier contracts.
* Lead the development and execution of sales strategies, plans, and incentives for the brands to maximize short- and medium-term volume and profit flow and increase the long-term value of the brands.
* Accountable for delivering GP and Brand Contribution goals, managing the set up and day-to-day execution of brand plans, recommending and implementing corrective/adjustment actions up/downside to optimize effectiveness and ensure achievement of targets.

* Nurture an effective working relationship with other Brand Managers, Sales Team, Chain Account Team, Operations Team, and Warehousing Team.
* Build a strong understanding of the opportunity in the region via short, medium, long-term new business planning.
* Conduct business reviews and track volume performance.
* Conduct business reviews, track volume performance, achieve and maintain account attainment and retention goals, and report on successes and opportunities.
* Respond to supplier and customer needs with expert quality and timeliness that contributes to successful outcomes.
* Leverage internal insights and external best practices to promote leading edge thinking.
* Communicate and drive sales goals across all Hayden Beverage – Idaho Wine Merchant sales teams.
* Manage brand as a business in terms of drivers, opportunities, and return.
* Align strategy with all key stakeholders, including suppliers.
* Evaluate category insights which identify trends, leading to new strategies.
* Develop and maintain competitor intelligence.
* Work with Suppliers on new product development, pricing strategy, forecasting, and various support tools needed to achieve strategic objectives
* Execution of medium and long-term new business strategy as well as specific retained account plans.
* Anticipate situations and develop approaches that maximize the business opportunities.
* Integrate all sales efforts (advertising, promotions, events, marketing assets…) within consistent overall brands plan.
* Tracks and analyzes brands performance and initiatives.
* Build Supplier commitments to the annual sales plan covering consumer and operational objectives.
* Build Hayden Beverage and Idaho Wine Merchant commitment and integration of inventory and sales plan alignment.

* Develop and manage new item introduction and transitions.



The Qualified Candidate



* Minimum 5 years of sales experience directly related to the wine category preferred
* Develops unique ideas that can be used to address sales issues and improve sales results.
* Focuses on projects and initiatives that deliver value to the organization.
* Leverages internal insights and external best practices to promote leading edge thinking.
* Responds to supplier/customer needs with expert quality and timeliness that contribute to successful outcomes.
* Analyzes and influences new ideas throughout the company including critical thinking to generate exceptional results.
* Designs new solutions by challenging and enhancing current processes with industry inputs.
* Continuously seeks to improve processes versus settling for the status quo.
* Balances immediate and long-term priorities.
* Must have an Acceptable Motor Vehicle record
